Function: Executive Leadership Medical Groups
Sherry A. Gentry, MBA, FACMPEI am a mostly retired healthcare executive. Over my 30 year career I focused on physician practice management in medium to large practices and healthcare systems. My senior and executive leadership experience included employment in large healthcare systems as well as 7 years of a consulting practice through The Advisory Board Company. I was involved in transformation and growth of physician practices across the country. I am a Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives, served as President of the America College of Medical Practices Executives and served on the Medical Group Management Board as President of Washington State MGMA. I received my undergraduate, graduate and Masters degree in Business Administration from City University, Seattle, Washington. In my various roles I have had the opportunity to coach and mentor many of my direct reports. I became a mentor in the University of Washington Healthcare Executive program for 2 years. Additionally, one of my consulting engagements was as a leadership coach to an up and coming young executive. I found this component of leadership to be one of the most rewarding aspects.Currently I have been engaged with a large healthcare system in New Mexico to provide Executive Leadership coaching to a female executive who is the COO of the medical group.
